News has just come around that Steve Jobs has handed in his official resignation. Early news indicate he will take up the position of Chairman and Tim Cook will be the new CEO. This news bloc is not only about his resignation but a look at ‘few things Steve Jobs’.Update: Apple press release confirms Steve Jobs will remain as Chairman, Tim Cook the new CEO.

Mr. Jobs, co-founder of the Cupertino, Calif., tech giant released the following statement.

“I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple”s CEO, I would be the first to let you know,” Jobs said in a statement. “Unfortunately, that day has come.”

Jobs went on medical leave in January.

Apple has released a press statement on the news of Steve Jobs resignation.

“Steve”s extraordinary vision and leadership saved Apple and guided it to its position as the world”s most innovative and valuable technology company,” said Art Levinson, Chairman of Genentech, on behalf of Apple’s Board. “Steve has made countless contributions to Apple”s success, and he has attracted and inspired Apple”s immensely creative employees and world class executive team. In his new role as Chairman of the Board, Steve will continue to serve Apple with his unique insights, creativity and inspiration.””The Board has complete confidence that Tim is the right person to be our next CEO,” added Levinson. “Tim”s 13 years of service to Apple have been marked by outstanding performance, and he has demonstrated remarkable talent and sound judgment in everything he does.”

So he took some measurements of the angles of the branches, crunched some numbers, and wouldn’t you know it, he found that the ubiquitous Fibonacci Sequence was behind it all. He suspected there was a reason behind this. That trees were using this pattern to gather more light.

Wind giants rising off British shores

The statistics are astounding, the gigantic scale of some of the world’s largest wind turbines hard to comprehend – even when you’re close enough to touch.

Each blade of the latest turbines to be installed in British waters stretches for a staggering 60 metres – that’s slightly longer than the entire wingspan of a Boeing 747 jumbo jet.
